A Vulnerable Landscape (2024)
Air, hand-blown glass, aluminum, live site-responsive quadraphonic sound

Small omnidirectional microphones are placed inside hand-blown glass objects, altering how the microphones pick up and transmit sound. The glass vessels act as resonators, filtering and emphasizing certain frequencies based on their size, shape, and material properties. As these signals are amplified and reintroduced into the space via four speakers, a feedback loop forms, where resonant frequencies of both the room and the glass objects reinforce or interfere with one another. As the listener moves through the exhibition space, shifts in position affect the perception of these resonances, revealing subtle variations in tone and spatial depth. This interaction results in evolving tones shaped by the acoustics of the space, the  listener’s position in space, and the physical characteristics of the installation.
