Aunis (Injazero Records, 2019)
Aunis was written and recorded during an artist residency on the Greek Dodecanese island of Nisyros. The music composed was a reaction to the unique topographical landscape of the island, much of which is an active volcanic crater. A dense palette of field recordings, piano, synthesis, and soprano saxophone were arranged in an improvisational method, forming an abstract work that is inherently tied to a specific location, yet open to interpretation in any listening environment.
A short film was made in simultaneity with the album, which premiered at Atopos CVC in Athens, Greece on October 6, 2018, accompanied by a live score.
